Your Plan G benefits are identical everywhere. Your premium isn’t.
Medigap benefits are standardized by federal law — Plan G from one carrier covers exactly what Plan G from another covers. What changes is the price, and premiums drift upward every year after you enroll.
A licensed North Carolina agent will check your current premium against the carriers we represent and tell you plainly whether it’s worth switching — or whether you already have a good rate.
No cost, no obligation. A real person reviews it — not an instant-quote robot.

Why people on the same plan pay very different premiums
Nothing went wrong. This is just how Medigap pricing works — and why a review every couple of years is worth the ten minutes.
- You were priced once. The rate you were quoted reflected your age, ZIP code and that carrier’s book of business on the day you enrolled.
- Premiums rise on their own schedule. Each carrier files its own increases. Two people with identical Plan G coverage can drift hundreds of dollars apart over several years.
- Newer entrants price to win. Carriers competing for new enrollees often come in below what long-standing blocks are paying.
- The coverage doesn’t change. Because benefits are federally standardized, moving carriers on the same letter plan doesn’t reduce what’s covered.
An honest note about switching. Outside a guaranteed-issue window, Medigap carriers can ask health questions and decline an application. North Carolina does not have a Medigap birthday rule, so there is no annual do-over here.
That’s exactly why we check your health situation before you apply anywhere. If switching isn’t realistic for you, we’ll say so instead of putting you through an application that gets declined.
How the review works
Three steps, no pressure, and you keep your current plan unless moving actually makes sense.
You tell us the basics
Your current plan letter, carrier, premium, ZIP code and date of birth. That’s all it takes to price accurately.
We check our carriers
We compare your premium against the Medicare Supplement carriers we’re appointed with, and talk through whether you’d likely qualify.
You decide — or don’t
You get the numbers and a straight recommendation. If your current rate is already competitive, we’ll tell you to stay put.
Common questions
What people ask before they’ll hand over a phone number.
What is Medigap, exactly?
Medicare Supplement insurance — Medigap — pays the deductibles, copays and coinsurance that Original Medicare leaves to you. Plans are labeled by letter (G, N, F and others), and by federal law every plan with the same letter provides the same benefits no matter which company sells it.
Is Plan G better than Plan N?
Neither is universally better. Plan G covers more of your out-of-pocket costs and generally carries a higher premium. Plan N costs less each month but leaves you with small copays for some office and emergency-room visits, and it doesn’t cover Part B excess charges. Which one fits depends on how often you use care and how you feel about predictable bills versus a lower premium. We’ll walk you through both.
Will I have to change doctors?
No. Medigap has no network. If a provider accepts Original Medicare, your supplement works there — and it stays that way if you change carriers on the same letter plan.
Can I switch whenever I want?
You can apply any time, but outside a guaranteed-issue period the carrier can ask health questions and turn you down. North Carolina has no Medigap birthday rule, so timing genuinely matters here. We check whether you’re likely to be approved before you apply.
Is this really free? What’s the catch?
The review costs you nothing and your premium is the same whether you enroll through us or directly with the carrier — Medigap rates are filed with the state. If you do enroll, the carrier pays us a commission. That’s the whole arrangement, and it’s worth knowing up front.
What happens after I submit the form?
A licensed agent — usually Michael — reviews your information and contacts you. There is no automated call sequence and we don’t sell your information to other agencies.
Find out where your premium stands
If you’re paying more than you need to for the same federally standardized benefits, it’s worth ten minutes to find out. If you’re not, you’ll know that too.
