Medicare Made Simple

Navigating Medicare doesn’t have to be confusing. We guide you through every option — from Original Medicare to Advantage plans, supplements, and drug coverage — so you can enroll with confidence.

Understanding Your Medicare Options

Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people 65+, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease. But “Medicare” isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s made up of several parts, each covering different services.

As an independent agent, we’re not tied to any one insurance company. We compare plans from UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Humana, Mutual of Omaha, Blue Cross NC, Alignment Health Plan, and more to find the coverage that fits your needs and budget.

Medicare Part A

Hospital insurance — covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care. Most people don't pay a monthly premium for Part A.

Medicare Part B

Medical insurance — covers doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, durable medical equipment, and some home health services. Standard monthly premium applies.

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

All-in-one alternative to Original Medicare offered by private insurers. Combines Part A + B (and usually Part D) with extras like dental, vision, hearing, and fitness benefits.

Part D — Drug Coverage

Prescription drug coverage available as a standalone plan (with Original Medicare) or bundled into a Medicare Advantage plan. Formularies and costs vary by plan and carrier.

Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap)

Medigap policies help fill the “gaps” in Original Medicare — things like copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. Sold by private insurance companies, these standardized plans (labeled A through N) let you keep any doctor who accepts Medicare.

We’ll help you compare Medigap plans from top carriers, explain the differences between popular options like Plan G and Plan N, and find the best rate available in your area.

📅

Initial Enrollment (IEP)

7-month window around your 65th birthday. The best time to enroll — you get guaranteed issue rights for Medigap and avoid late penalties.

🔄

Annual Enrollment (AEP)

October 15 – December 7 each year. Switch Medicare Advantage or Part D plans. Changes take effect January 1.

Open Enrollment (OEP)

January 1 – March 31. Switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another, or drop MA and return to Original Medicare + Part D.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I enroll in Medicare?

Your Initial Enrollment Period begins 3 months before you turn 65, includes your birthday month, and ends 3 months after. This is the ideal time to enroll without late penalties.

What’s the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medigap?

Medicare Advantage (Part C) replaces Original Medicare with an all-in-one plan from a private insurer, often including drug coverage and extras like dental/vision. Medigap supplements Original Medicare by covering out-of-pocket costs like deductibles and coinsurance. You can’t have both simultaneously.

Does it cost extra to use an independent agent?

No. Our services are completely free to you. We’re compensated by insurance carriers, and you pay the exact same premium whether you enroll directly or through us. The benefit of working with us is unbiased guidance across multiple carriers.

Can I change my Medicare plan later?

Yes! During the Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7), you can switch Medicare Advantage or Part D plans. The Open Enrollment Period (Jan 1 – Mar 31) also allows certain changes. We’re here to help you review your options every year.
